Acharya Praveen Chauhan Awarded Ph.D. for Lunar Cycle Research
In a remarkable blend of ancient wisdom and modern science, the distinguished Vedic astrologer, Acharya Praveen Chauhan, has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree by Shobhit University, Meerut. His pioneering research explores the impact of lunar cycles on mental health, offering fresh insights into this intriguing field.
Acharya Chauhan's doctoral thesis in Psychology, titled “The Impact of the Full Moon on Anxiety and Depression,” investigates the relationship between lunar phases and emotional well-being. This comprehensive study was conducted under the mentorship of University Registrar Professor Dr. Ganesh Bhardwaj.
During his presentation, Acharya Chauhan highlighted the Moon's crucial influence on human psychology, a concept deeply rooted in Vedic astrology. He explained, “Our research indicates that emotional intensity often reaches its peak during full moon phases, potentially influencing anxiety and depressive symptoms in vulnerable individuals.”
This research is particularly significant given the increasing mental health challenges across India, prompting a renewed interest in studies that integrate traditional knowledge with contemporary psychological insights.

Acharya Chauhan is a well-respected figure in astrology and spiritual guidance, offering advice to prominent politicians, corporate leaders, and Bollywood celebrities. He is also a regular contributor to several national Hindi and English publications.
The Ph.D. degree was conferred during a ceremony attended by Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Jayanand, Ph.D. Coordinator Prof. Anuj Goyal, and senior faculty members. Chancellor Kunwar Shekhar Vijendra and other dignitaries congratulated Acharya Chauhan on his academic success.
